Photo Flashback: Miss Claus

Since it is (or, ahem, was yesterday) the holiday season I have been using some of these old photos on my social networking profiles. Those were just copies of the old, barely edited copies that I had on my Myspace from back in the day. Of course I didn’t know I had the (5MP, blast from the past) originals on a CD which I just happened to come across a few days ago. So I thought it would be fun to re-edit these now.

There is a cute story about this outfit. At that time I was even more broke than I usually am now & was on a Live Journal community in which everyone volunteered to send stuff that they had around their houses but weren’t using. I mentioned that I had always wanted a sexy women’s Santa outfit but never had the dough to buy one. A woman messaged me who told me that she had one that she had worn for her husband a couple of years prior but then just shoved in a closet. Then she had a baby. She said the boy was now a toddler & had recently seen part of it peeking out of the closet & asked “Mommy, why is Santa’s costume here?” so she wanted to get it out of her house. I am not one of those ‘aw, kids say the darndest things’ type of people but I thought that was cute.

So I took these for fun. It was when I had just started taking pics so I was just worried about how I looked & trying to pose with very little thought to the background. So I figured this is an opportunity to remedy that a bit with fun Picnik frames. I have worn pieces of these outfits out a few times, such as a Christmas party that my sister and I threw back in 2007. Just click on the below group party shot for more (really old) party antics. Ugh, it did involve me making my own absinthe. I do miss having that long hair, lol.
