Johnny Depp Movie Marathon Tweetathon
I was recently reading about the Bad Movie MegaTwitterthon 6/4/11: Introduction to Destruction at Mr. Gable’s Reality via She Blogged By Night and thought that I would like to do the same thing but with Johnny Depp movies. Recently I thought about how I’d like to have a little Johnny Depp marathon for myself and this seemed like a fun thing to do in tandem with that.
So Sunday, July 31, 2011, (tomorrow) I will be watching a bunch of Depp flicks and tweeting about them. If you’re also a twitter freak then you can participate and follow along by using the hashtag #JDeppTweet and/or #JohnnyDepp. I will be following along. Many times we tweet about movies anyhow and sometimes we even watch them together after mentioning what channel they are on anyway. You can also follow along on with me on my twitter here or on GetGlue, mine is here but I don’t know if I’ll remember to check in. If you are not on twitter or GetGlue feel free to comment below. If you participate then I might do it again soon.
My game plan is most likely Blow, Secret Window, The Ninth Gate and then 1 of or a combination of Ed Wood, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Libertine, Rango and Sweeney Todd. Feel free to invent your own.
You are probably thinking, “Mary, I don’t have a stack of Johnny Depp DVDs laying around”. Lucky for you that I have compiled a list of other means of watching his movies below. TV

I will be eating guacamole (via the above recipe from a Giant Eagle circular). It’s the recipe I always use except I use a food processor because I like it smoother. I also cut the recipe down and use less so it can get eaten before turning brown. You can subsitute regular onions for the red onions, lemon juice for the lime juice and garlic seasoning for the actual garlic if you don’t have those things on hand. Last time I made it I threw in some mushrooms too, which were tasty. Then dip in your tortilla chips and you are set.
I will also be having some type of beer (hopefully with lime flavoring) and some tequila.
If none of these are your favorite check out his filmography on IMDB.com see to a list of all of his roles. Feel free to share why certain roles or films of his have touched you by posting a comment.
The tweetathon occurred on July 31, 2011. You can read the recap here.
