This post is a part of 90s Month.

I didn’t just want to do a teen idols post because that’s been done a lot. Plus I had a lot of odd or not age appropriate crushes as a preteen/teen. So I chose guys who I found hot back in the 90s. Because I had decided on shirtless photos they had to have turned 18 by the end of the 90s. I also used photos from the 90s when available & applicable.

(click for the full size photos)

from top upper left: Kevin Bacon, 3 Christian Bale (with Dominic West sandwiched in there), 3 Antonio Banderas, 10 Brad Pitt, Casper Van Dien, Matt Damon, 8 Johnny Depp, 2 Devon Sawa, 2 Matt Dillon, Stephen Dorff, David Duchovny, 5 Ewan McGregor, Harrison Ford, 2 Brendan Fraser, 5 Richard Gere, 2 Josh Hartnett, Thomas Jane, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, 5 Keanu Reeves, 2 Leonardo DiCaprio, Jared Leto, Mark “Marky Mark” Wahlberg, 3 Mark McGrath, Paul Mercurio, Timothy Olyphant, 4 Vincent Perez,2 Ryan Phillippe, Brad Renfro, Rider Strong, 5 Johnathon Schaech, 2 Christian Slater, Shane West.

This post is a part of 30 for 30 Month. These outfits were worn in July and August.

4th of July

headband-Target, lei-Dollar Tree, Mossimo Supply Co. patriotic tank top-Target, Route 66 denim shorts-eBay, Fashion Bug red velvet wedges-thrifted

luckily my mom likes to do stuff like this sometimes too

I just threw this together for fun on the 4th of July. I had picked up the headbands the week prior at Target (also seen here), had the leis from last year. I wear these shorts all of the time. I snagged them on eBay like a year ago. I had found a pair of yellow shorts that I really liked the fit of on a clearance sale at Kmart so I hunted down 3 more in various colors on eBay (all from the same seller, yay!). I love these wedges that I’ve had for a while but I don’t have a lot of red clothing so they rarely get worn.

GAP black tee-thrifted, belt-Walmart, green Buddha bracelet-gift, brown cuff-Dots, green, slim fit pants-Dots

Clarks boots-thrifted. (Yeah, I wear men's watches, deal with it.)

This is just something standard that I would wear but I tried to make it more interesting by adding the cuff (seen here, so are the pants), belt (seen here) and bracelet.

Just For Wraps denim dress-Dots, pink stone bracelet-gift, pink fabric belt-thrifted, heart necklace-gift.

Flex from ShoeDazzle (Crossfire Strap by Pony)

I wanted to be comfortable on that day so I wore my comfy denim dress (seen here) with my new flats from ShoeDazzle. During the BOGO sale in which I bought the Vivica wedges I also snagged these really fun gold shoes because I needed a new pair of slip ons to wear all of the time. ShoeDazzle calls them Flex because they are totally flexible. The original name given to them by Pony is the Crossfire Strap. They are sold out at ShoeDazzle but you can snag them here. I love them and wear them most days. I think of them as my space shoes, which is so silly but fun. The necklace and bracelet were both gifts from my sister at random times that I added for visual interest. (I suck at finding costume jewelry that I like so I’m happy that she figures it out for me.).

Prospirit Athletic Gear black tank top with silver design, heart necklace-gift, Route 66 denim shorts-eBay, Clarks boots-thrifted

I wore this outfit when I was attempting to go see The Clarks play at the fair. I needed something that said sort of rocker but also comfortable and hillbillyish. So I put on this tank top which I’ve had for years. It’s actually a sports top with a built in bra and everything but I usually just wear it anytime in the summer because I like the design. Back when I was living in Maryland and would run out of slutty bar tops I would often substitute this, which fits in at your small bars. Other than that it’s the same shorts, necklace and boots seen in outfits above.

My plan was to hang out for a while, bother my bro (who was working the fair), watch a pig race and then see The Clarks perform. However on the way there a torrential downpour started. I called and the teen girl working the phone made it sound unlikely that they would go on. Of course I later found out that they did but it’s not like I was up for walking/standing around in the rain for hours anyhow. Every time I try to see this band (from PA so they play in the area fairly often) they cancel the show or something like this happens. I think I’m done trying.

So I ended up going somewhere else where I looked inappropriate (which is the usual for me anyway.)

For some reason sometimes when I take photos from a certain spot in my room they come out fuzzy. These are usually the best shots. Plus I think that I’m done and then realize that I have to hurry up and take some more. So in the interest of having a couple of shots that weren’t blurry the second two are extremely close.

“Everything I did was going against the grain. I don’t know any teachers who could wear Louboutins to school or heels that high.”

“She was in couture from head to toe. It’s not something you’d probably ever see. The shoes were sexy, that’s what the story is about. She’s a teacher who wants to marry a rich guy and get the hell out of there. All her accoutrement, her purses, handbags and shoes, were way beyond her means.”-Bad Teacher’s costume designer Debra Maguire on Cameron Diaz’s look in the film.

Recently I was browsing movie wardrobe on eBay and noticed that Reel Clothes & Props (who I recommend, BTW) was selling a pair of shoes worn by Cameron Diaz in Bad Teacher so I had to check them out. I’m a fan of the movie and the styles in the movie. I even wore some boots when I went to see it since they featured so heavily in the ads. I noticed something weird, the shoes were not Louboutin, like most in the film, but they were still selling them with a high opening bid. As I read I found out that these were the only pair worn in the film, making them worth more. I found the whole thing so interesting that I had to watch the film again and document all of the shoes that I noticed. Most of the exact styles are no longer available as the film was shot last year but I found similar styles.

Cameron Diaz in Steve Madden in Bad Teacher

Fergie black shoes

ALDO platform shoes

Drama Red ShoePrivée

These super cute red wedges that were worn in the car wash scene are the Exsell by Steve Madden. The costume designer Debra McGuire said “in the car wash scene she was wearing a very high Steve Madden platform shoe with the cut-off jeans. I couldn’t find a wedge any higher”. Certainly I couldn’t find any this high in my search. My favorite picks are the Drama from Shoe Privee. Though they are not red I’m also fond of the Fergie Quickset.

In most of the film Diaz is seen in Christian Louboutin styles (with that signature red sole). Some have stated that it’s pretty obvious that this was product placement by Louboutin while the costume designer said “Cameron personally owns a lot of Louboutins. When we did the fitting, I had brought some and she had some of her own. That’s when I decided they were perfect for her character. I knew they would be comfortable and that she could walk in a 6″ heel. Some people can’t. The shoes influence the way you walk, the way you carry yourself, the way you express your character.” Either way I loved this choice as did many online fashionistas who proclaimed it a “Louboutin fashion show”.

One of the most worn styles in the film are her Louboutin Fifre Booties. They go well with many outfits.

Cameron Diaz in Bad Teacher

Miu Miu zips shoes
$689 –

Giuseppe Zanotti heel boots
$865 –

She also wears these gray Louboutin booties in various scenes. I haven’t been able to locate the name of them. At first I thought they were the Fifre in gray but they don’t have buttons.

Cameron Diaz in Louboutin in Bad Teacher

Christian Louboutin platform high heels

$25 –

I believe that the Coussin Caged by Louboutin were only seen briefly in the film but a still from that scene was used in the promotional material so stylistas online have been going bonkers over them. These are actually still available. Plus Louboutin offers a similar style in white.

Bad Teacher Patent Heels

Bella-Vita high heel shoes
$79 –

By Larin patent leather high heels
$239 –

Giuseppe Zanotti patent leather pumps

ShoeDazzle Maura

There are some scenes in the film in which Diaz is trying to come off more classy and she dons some very classic looking Christian Louboutin Patent Leather Pumps. You can easily find similar pumps in many stores. If you want something similar with color underneath you can choose the Giuseppe Zanotti or ShoeDazzle styles that I’ve included.

Christian Louboutin red soled high heels
$775 –

Christian Louboutin peep toe pumps

ShoeDazzle Chanelle

Though these were only seen briefly at the end of the film I really like them. I haven’t been able to locate the style name but they are also by Louboutin. They seem to have some laces sneaking out from the front.

In some scenes that didn’t require her to seduce anyone Diaz wore comfy UGG boots.

Boots & Bags in Bad Teacher

$28 –

Frye shoulder bag
$203 –

Junior Drake shoulder bag

ShoeDazzle Columbia

Diaz wore Louboutin boots in one scene. I don’t know the name but Louboutin offers many boots styles. I think that they look pretty clunky and remind me of rain boots. She also carried this bag for much of the film. I couldn’t figure out the name or designer but offered some similar choices. My favorite is the Columbia from ShoeDazzle.

Cameron Diaz's Shoes in the June Maxim

Diaz appeared in the June issue of Maxim to promote the film and wore some killer shoes. Maxim lists the brands and they are still available. Plus I included some cheaper alternatives.
