Everything You Need To Know is a novella. It definitely clocks in at a quick read at 105 pages. A story can be both short and satisfying though and this one doesn’t quite make it on the latter.

The basic premise is interesting. It focuses on a young woman named Jordan who has created a website, Need To Know, to help women avoid dating truly offensive men. Her reason for creating this site and her drive to succeed are established fairly strongly, which is great. However anyone who has ever considered writing romance knows that you don’t rely on a heroine’s profession to keep the reader hooked. The focus should be the relationship between the two leading characters.

Both Jordan and the hero, Forest, have backstories and sound attractive. Their story just isn’t compelling or frankly sexy enough to keep the reader truly entertained. They aren’t together enough and when they are apart the distance doesn’t feel tangible.

It’s an okay read, especially since it’s brief, but you don’t actually “need to know” this book.
