Recently BzzAgent sent me the above products gratis to try out. All of these sunscreens are from Coppertone. I received items from the Clearly Sheer line as well as Continuous Spray products. To be specific, I received a 5 oz bottle of Clearly Sheer Sunscreen Lotion in SPF 30 and three one ounce samples of the same lotion. I also received two 1.6 ounce cans of Sunscreen Continuous Spray in SPF 50. A coupon (not pictured) for $2 off a Coppertone Clearly Sheer product was included as well.

Both the lotion and the spray sunscreen are light, as the name implies. They don’t feel greasy on, like some I’ve used in the past.

The scent of each is surprisingly good. The lotion has a pleasant, fresh soapy smell. The spray is similar but has a slightly different smell. It sort of reminds me of bug spray. I mean that in the best way possible. It’s still not strong for a spray on sunscreen. I had been using a drugstore brand spray on sunscreen before receiving these and that spray definitely had a much stronger scent.

I usually put the spray on outside or in a room with a window open. Yesterday I forgot and sprayed it on while still in my closed up living room (I had the air conditioner on). I was worried that it would smell up the room but when I returned a few minutes later for a forgotten item the smell had lessened already. When I came back inside from my backyard about an hour later there was no smell left at all. Coppertone says that the lotion that I received which has a yellow label and states “For Sunny Days” is intended to have a citrus scent. The blue sprays are supposed to has a tropical fruit and flower fragrance. These are listed as being called “For Beach and Pool”. Mine doesn’t say that but I assume that it’s the same.

Do these work? Do they keep you from getting a sunburn? Yes. I can tell you for sure and that I’m not just lucky in not getting burnt, due to a mistake I made a few days ago. I sprayed some on before I got in my pool but when I got out I was slightly uncomfortable. Why? I’d forgotten to spray my stomach and chest (I was wearing a bikini) and had gotten slightly burnt, but only in those areas. My arms and legs were perfectly fine. So it definitely works, must make sure to cover all areas that you will be exposing to the sun. According to Coppertone, these should be water resistant for up to 80 minutes. So make sure that if you are out longer than that, that you reapply.

According to the ingredients lists’, both types of sunscreen include Vitamin E. This probably contributes to why Coppertone states that they are moisturizing. They are supposed to leave your skin soft, smooth and free of breakouts. They even state that it has been clinically tested on acne-prone skin. I don’t know about the soft part but it definitely didn’t cause me to breakout. I have very sensitive skin and neither irritated it in any way, which is a huge plus.

Another thing that I really dig are the small sizes which make them super convenient for carrying with you or just leaving in a convenient area without taking up too much space. I was worried that they had only made this size for samples but you can buy them. Here’s a lot of 6 that I found for sale on Amazon. They are also available for sale at some Walmarts.

I definitely recommend these for anyone looking to try a new sunscreen, whether you prefer a lotion or a spray. They work, are light and pleasantly scented.

Note: I received these products courtesy of BzzAgent and Coppertone in exchange for an honest review.
