NOTE: This post is originally from 2010. I thought that The Hangover Part 2 was super funny. The title of the movie The Dark Fields was changed to Limitless, which I loved. Cooper has since broken up with Zellweger.

Bradley Cooper first came to my attention in 2005. I had never watched the show Alias because I thought it looked boring. Prior to the 4th season premiere though they were heavily advertising it. I didn’t have anything else to watch so I caught the season premiere. Of course I was hooked. I, as usual, was broke and had to get the DVDs used cheaply on eBay. Back then the sets retailed for over $40. I actually bought season 3 before 1 and 2 because it was the only one I could get really cheap at the time. Confusing but I still got into it. A month or so later I picked up the other 2. Going through the series I thought this Will guy was so cute.

In 2005 I caught Bradley Cooper’s appearances in Wedding Crashers and was all upset like “How could they make him a jerk?”. Later when I became a guide the only questions I ever had about him were “Who’s the asshole in Wedding Crashers?” and I’d sigh.

Then he got the lead in the Fox series Kitchen Confidential. I thought, awesome, he’s gonna be a star. No, the show was canceled hella quick. In the series he was playing a fictionalized version of celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain.

In 2007 he had a memorable role as actor Aiden Stone in Season 5 on one of my favorite shows, Nip/Tuck. Of course, he killed it.

In 2008 he was the lead in the awesome horror flick Midnight Meat Train but it was rushed in and out of theaters. You should definitely check it out though.

Then last year I was visiting family in Maryland and we went to see Fast & Furious. In front of it they had the trailer for The Hangover. I thought this was really cool because I had my first trip to Vegas planned for the next month. The movie looked hilarious. It turns out that what it took for him to become a star was a big budget comedy. Ever since then I now get “Who’s the sexy guy from The Hangover?” when working. I much prefer that description. Later that year he co-starred with Sandra Bullock in the awful looking romantic comedy All About Steve.

Most of his other roles were minor or I’ve tried to scrub the movie from my brain. (Case in point: He’s Just Not That Into You, ack!).

Later I realized that he was one of the guys making out (yum) in the hilarious Wet Hot American Summer. He also played a hot jerk on an episode of Sex and the City.

Today his big budget action film The A-Team opens. Frankly I know nothing about the show except from stuff they’ve shown on Family Guy. He looks down right sexy in it though and I like those types of movies so I’ll be seeing it soon.

They are also in pre-production on The Hangover 2. I hope it’s as funny as the 1st. In 2011 he will also appear in a thriller called The Dark Fields which sounds pretty neat.

FUN FACTS:

He’s 6’1 but wanted to be taller.
“I had size 12 feet when I was 10, so I thought I was going to be 6′ 8″. My goal was to be able to dunk a basket. I wound up being 6′ 1″ with size 14 feet. I got the raw end of the deal.”-Bradley Cooper (from IMDB.com)

Cooper has an adorable dog named Charlotte who is a Chow-retriever mix.

He’s currently dating Renee Zellweger. I think they make a cute couple.

When it comes to a lot of actors I liked them before they got really famous. Off the top of my head I’m thinking of Gerard Butler and Leonardo DiCaprio. However when it comes to Russell Crowe I fell for him when everyone else did when Gladiator hit the screens in 2000.

Then I had to track down as many of his other flicks as possible. This is why I have a box full of video tapes with him in odd movies/roles like the Salma Hayek relationship flick (Breaking Up), the one where he hits a woman (L.A. Confidential), the one where he plays a killer android (Virtuosity), the “western” (The Quick and the Dead), the one where he’s a skinhead (Romper Stomper) and the one he gained weight and made himself look aged for (The Insider). Sure some were bad and others were not my speed.

Looking at Crowe’s resume I’m unsure if I would have watched most of his movies if he wasn’t in them. I still stand by Virtuosity being tacky good fun though. I even had the book adaptation of Proof of Life because it had a sex scene in it that was edited from the movie and one of his band’s CDs. In the 2000’s he went on to make some great, but depressing films. All in all I find it crazy how great Crowe is that I’d basically watch him in anything.

I’m still kicking myself for not going to be an extra in The Next Three Days, which was shot in Pittsburgh.

This may be one of the most rambling things I’ve ever written. Oh well, what can I say? Russell Crowe is a sexy, manly man from Down Under who doesn’t exactly inspire coherent thoughts from me.

Australian actor Alex O’Loughlin came to my attention in 2007 when he starred as Mick the private eye vampire in Moonlight. I loved this series. This was prior to the whole vampire craze of Twilight and True Blood. It had poor ratings and was canceled after one season.

Recently he starred in the medical drama Three Rivers. Despite the show being set in Pittsburgh, PA (not far from me) it didn’t really interest me and I didn’t watch it. I’m not a hospital show type of gal although I do watch Grey’s Anatomy & Private Practice occasionally.

Now O’Loughlin is starring in the newest J. Lo vehicle The Back-up Plan which is a cheesy romantic comedy. So I’m all over that.

Up next Alex will be playing Det. Steve McGarrett in a remake of the series Hawaii Five-O.

I recently did a photo post about hot actors when they were younger, “When They Were Young”, and was thinking well there have to be some actors who are young right now that I also have the hots for. It took me a little longer though because I’m not into the who Taylor Lautner/Zac Efron types. I like the oddballs or deeper guys. Yes, I know that 5 of them turn 30 sometime this year but tough cookies.

Shia LeBeouf (06/11/86)
Here’s the thing, I hated him back in the day. I used to be close to one of my nieces. We would always hang out for a week or two every summer. One summer she had me watching Even Stevens. So I thought of him as this annoying little kid when he popped up in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle & Constantine. Then he hosted SNL and I no longer worried that he would ruin the 4th Indy for me. I even own that Rear Window knockoff he’s in. I don’t think that the trailer for Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps looks that hot but he does in his suits, yum.

I’m a big fan of his flick The Girl Next Door . You may have also seen him in Lords of Dogtown, Alpha Dog or Taking Woodstock.

Patrick Fugit (10/27/82)
I felt like a perv when I first liked him in Almost Famous but it turns out he was already legal, yay! You may have also seen his turns in White Oleander, Spun, Saved!, The Amateurs (hilarious, BTW) or Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant.

Seth Rogen (04/15/82)
I’ve had a thing for him since The 40 Year Old Virgin. He has also appeared in Freaks and Geeks, Superbad, Knocked Up, Pineapple Express, Zack and Miri Make a Porno & Observe and Report. He’s recently dropped some lbs to be the new Green Hornet. Check him out in these SNL sketches The Fast and the Bi-Curious & Like a Boss

Yes, Elias in Clerks 2 was weird and kinda creepy but also a little adorable.

Chris Evans (06/13/81)
Evans came to my attention in Not Another Teen Movie as a jock spoof and that’s still my favorite role of his. You may also recognize him from Push or The Fantastic Four. His film The Losers opens in April.

Michael Pitt (04/10/81)
Pitt has had great turns in Hedwig and the Angry Inch , The Dreamers and Last Days.

Jake Gyllenhaal (12/19/80)
You may recognize him from Donnie Darko, The Good Girl, The Day After Tomorrow, Brokeback Mountain , Brothers or the upcoming Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

Ben Foster (10/29/80)
It was very hard to find some good pics of Foster because he is known for his dark, disconcerting roles. As someone who was in high school during Columbine I watched and discovered him in the flick Bang Bang You’re Dead in 2002. You may have also caught him on Six Feet Under or in X-Men: The Last Stand or Pandorum.

Macaulay Culkin (08/26/80)
Blame the Oscars for reminding me of Culkin. He’s only a little older than me & I too watched Home Alone. But it was his turns in Party Monster & Will & Grace that gave me a little crush on him.

Jason Schwartzman (06/26/80)
Schwarztman burst onto the seen in Rushmore and then continued with roles in Slackers, Spun, Shopgirl, Marie Antoinette and The Darjeeling Limited. I knew I was crushing hard when I still wanted him even when he was completely creepy in Slackers. I also own a Phantom Planet CD and find the part where he fingers that chick in The Darjeeling Limited very hot.

Channing Tatum
(04/26/80)
I haven’t seen all of his films but I have to say he is totally hot in Step Up (where he met his future wife, aw) and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. He is sweet in interviews I’ve read about him. I will be renting Dear John when it comes out because I have an embarrassing penchant for romcoms. Oh and you know he’s totally ripped.

So not too long ago my friend scodal posted this photo of Christopher Walken that was taken when he was young. For like a second I was creeped out. Now I’ve actually had a crush on Walken since the ’90s when he got all uber cool doing the SNL hosting gigs & that Fatboy Slim video. But it still caught me off guard because I had never seen him young before. Well I ultimately thought it was hot and made it my desktop background.

Last night I was screwing around on the net and thought maybe I’d do a search for hot actors when they were younger. I think that many actors are hot at any age but this is still fun.
