An Exclusive Interview with Huff’s Elina Madison

shot by RealTVFilms, showed up that weekend on an ABC affiliate news site, neat!

Over the summer I had the opportunity to attend the Philadelphia Wizard World Comic Con as press along with my sister and fellow writer, Hot Donna. While there we had so much fun and were able to learn more about our favorite films as well as being introduced to new films, such as Huff.

Huff is an independent horror movie that offers a new take on the old tale of The Three Little Pigs. It’s about a cash strapped, abusive stepfather (Charlie O’Connell) with three teen daughters. When he gets involved with a drug deal things go from bad to worse. Unfortunately we were unable to catch the screening of the film that was held at the con because we were in Atlantic City that night but I’m definitely looking forward to viewing it when it’s released. According to the official Facebook page the current estimated release date is April 5, 2013.

At Wizard World the team involved in the filming of the flick were on hand to give everyone a scoop on the picture. Charlie O’Connell (Sliders, Dude, Where’s My Car?) was even posing for photos and signing autographs for free.

We were fortunate enough to meet Charlie as well as producer Terry James, in addition to interviewing Elina Madison (1000 Ways to Die). Elina plays Lorelei in Huff. Please enjoy the following interview with her.

Elina Madison will next be seen in Creep Creepersin’s Dracula. Charlie O’Connell will next be seen on the new TV series Zombie Family. Terry James’ next endeavors are as a stunt coordinator for The Last Duane and a stunt driver in Feed the Dog.

missemmamm Interviews Sean and Such

So as I was covering the Philadelphia Wizard World Comic Con last summer I decided to look for some interesting, original topics to cover. When I spotted these two fellows, Joe Centner and Sean Gitter, I was intrigued. They have their own original, short animated series that you can watch online. Their show Sean and Such is about two best friends who are employees at a pet store.

Plus I’m not gonna lie, the fact that Joe was cute didn’t hurt my stopping at their table to check things out. They were totally awesome to both Hot Donna and myself. So please check out my signed photo from them above and my interview with them below. Plus I’ve also included the first episode of their series so you can get a taste of it. It reminds me of Clerks, which, if you know me is definitely high praise.

2012 Wizard World Philly Comic Con: Dot Com for President

This past summer I had the pleasure to attend the Philadelphia Wizard World Comic Con as press. It was such a fantastic experience that was full of surprises. One of them being that on the Sunday of the convention as I turned a corner I spotted Dot Com from 30 Rock! He hadn’t been listed as attending and told me that he was a last minute addition. He was selling items stating Dot Com for President, which was pretty neat. It was so awesome that he granted me some of his time for the interview with him below.

The woman who was in charge of handling the press told us where we could sit. She also said, feel free to crouch on the floor for close photos if you want. So near the end of the panel I literally crawled around in the below pink dress and took these pics because I had to, and it was encouraged! Man, how beautiful is Kristy Swanson, BTW?

(Other photos included in this post were taken from our normal seated position and aren’t as clear but I’m including them anyway so you can get a fuller experience.)

The panel started off with Clare letting everyone know that she’s filling in for Juliet Landau (who was originally scheduled to attend) and joked that she’d try to field any Drusilla questions. James promoted his band, Ghost of the Robot.

on the best acting advice they received
The second video is just a shorter, clearer version of the first about acting advice. My sister shot it because of her James Marsters obsession so I’m including it for all of us fangirls out there.

most memorable moments

James Marsters delves into how Joss Whedon really used a mixture of genres on Buffy, sometimes within the same episode or scene. He also discusses stage Vs screen acting.

on their characters’ deaths

Amber Benson comments on what it was like to have her death scene be used as her opening title credit for the rest of the show.

She talks about how it’s not about sexuality or even physicality but about love.

James Marsters talks about what it was like when fans found Spike sexy since that wasn’t Joss’ original intention.

answering if they ever took anything from the set
I love that Clare Kramer stole Glory’s panties!

It’s awesome when he talks about working with Boreanaz on Angel.

Well the Buffy panel at the 2012 Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con was awesome, as would be expected. As I mentioned in my Thor panel post, BTVS fans are the best. They are perceptive, witty and inquisitive.

I’ve been to a small, intimate Angel/Buffy convention years back. Plus my sister and I had also met a couple of the actors at another convention years ago but this was a first for her to see an actual Buffy panel. You don’t even know how excited she was.

Mark Metcalf, Amber Benson, James Marsters, Clare Kramer

I did most of the filming on this one and for some reason the fact that her camera is 2MP higher than mine makes a huge difference. That’s why some videos are clearer and closer than others. I’m also usually steadier but it was too much fun to stay completely still during this thing.

I would definitely say that a fun time was had by all. If Wizard World does another Buffy panel in the future I highly encourage you to attend it. What a blast!

2012 Wizard World Philly Comic Con: My Favorite Costumes

So we’ve established that yes, the 2012 Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con was awesome. One of my favorite parts of any convention that I’ve ever attended are checking out all of the great costumes or cosplayers, if you will. Since we were press (I know, it’s weird to think about) and we had a lot to do I didn’t get as many shots as I otherwise would have. However the pics I did get I am definitely jazzed about.

when I saw the hottest Loki in attendance I had to ask for a pic
Hot Donna with Harley Quinn
Mario and Luigi? We both had to get in on that.
When I saw these 4 lovely ladies I jumped in on a photo someone else was taking but they said it was okay.
& the next day I accosted Poison Ivy again because her costume rocks!
in the original costume (before Captain America becomes famous), hells to the yeah!
This dude was doing Nicholson's '89 Joker & he was in character!
When I find a group of young men with light sabers I can't help myself.
for someone who doesn't watch Doctor Who my sister was unnaturally attracted to the TARDIS (I don't watch it either, I just spend way too much time online)

The DeLorean from Back to the Future was there & for a small fee of $20 you could get a pic either inside or standing on the hoverboard to benefit The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, very cool
