Golden Tote is a monthly fashion service. Unlike most monthly bags, boxes or crates, you are only charged if you login and make a purchase. New styles are released (at least) monthly, though. You can purchase a $49 small tote, a $99 surprise tote or a $149 large tote. Shipping is free if you spend at least $149.

The cool thing about this service is that it’s curated. This means that if you choose the small tote, you can choose one tote item and then they pick a surprise item for you, based off of your style profile. For the $149 tote, you choose two items and then receive 3 or 4 more that are surprises. The $99 tote is 4 surprises.

Stylists also work off of your notes. So if you absolutely love maxis, let them know! You can even mention surprises by name and they will try to get you them, if they are available. You can also buy additional items from their boutique. If you buy them while getting a tote, then they may be offered at a great discount. This is the first month that GT has started offering swimwear and shoes!

If you would like to join Golden Tote, click here. (Please note: This is a referral link. If you purchase through my link, then I get a $10 credit towards my purchase.) Now, these are just my personal favorites. There are many other styles available this month.

Totes go on sale on the first Monday of the month. So, July’s sale launches on Monday, July 6 at 12PM EST. Hop on ASAP to make sure you can get your size in your favorites.

leopard Collage
Ladylike Leopard Maxi Dress
Available:
In the $149 tote
Boutique price: $52
Add-on price: $40

in peach or aqua (I want both!)

I love this. It’s the item that I want the most this month. It features a cute back, tie waist and slit. It’s made of 100% polyester. This is supposed to run true to size. I guess that is with a relaxed fit though, as these are the measurements for the chest: 36″ small, 38″ medium and 40″ large.

tie dye Collage
Step Bright Up Dress
Available:
In the $149 tote
Boutique price: $62
Add-on price: $40

in magenta or yellow

This maxi is just super fun. It is also 100% polyester. It’s listed as true to size, but seems to run smaller than the last dress. Chest measurements are: 30″ small, 32″ medium and 34″ large.

denim skirt collage
Classic Denim Skirt
Available:
In the $49 tote and $149 tote
Boutique price: $35
Add-on price: $30

This is really a simple, classic skirt, but that’s what’s so great about it. It’s made of 98% cotton and 2% spandex. It’s listed as being true to size, but I think that it runs large, based on the waist measurements: 29″ small, 31″ medium and 33″ large.

crossover Collage
Draped Crossover Blouse
Available:
In the $49 tote and $149 tote
Boutique: $35
Add-on: $30

in ivory or navy

This 100% rayon, draped top just catches my eye. It features a faux wrap front. It is listed as being true to size, but sounds a bit large. The small has a chest measurement of 40″.

coverup Collage
Lounging Poolside Swim Cover
Available:
In the $149 tote
Boutique price: $48
Add-on price: $35

in pink multi, mint or navy

This is super sweet. All of the colors rock, but I’d go with the pink. This is 100% rayon. It’s said to run true to size, with a loose fit. The chest on the small measures 52″.

in the BOUTIQUE

SWIMWEAR

I really dig the cut and classic print of this suit. It runs true to size.

Paisley Print Tankini
Paisley Print Tankini
$14 per piece

I would definitely wear this. I actually have a set that is similar, so it wouldn’t be out of my comfort zone at all. The ruching on the bottoms is adorable. It runs true to size.

SHOES

butterfly bobos
Butterfly Slip-Ons
$20
sizes 5.5-10

Bobos are always comfy and easy to wear. This is definitely a fun print for the summer. They run true to size.

These look comfortable, but just dressy enough to be worn for special occasions as well. They run true to size.

woven sandal
Goldilicious Woven Sandal
$22
sizes 5.5-10

Sexay! They run true to size.

glad
Everyday Gladiator Sandals
$20
sizes 5.5-10

These seem a bit plain at first glance. However, I’ve had a similar style in black and I reached for them until they wore out. So these would definitely be awesome to get. They run true to size.

ACCESSORIES

silver shell cuff
Silver Shell Cuff
$12

This would look hot with sleeveless dresses and tops.

Aurora Headband
Aurora Headband

I’m not really a headband person, but I’d make an exception for this cutie.

This would work well with flowy dresses and tops.

Pineapple Clasp Belt
Pineapple Clasp Belt
$10

Stone Disk Necklace
Stone Disk Necklace

I don’t wear much jewelry, but this is just awesome! It’s totally reminiscent of those geode bookends that all of us had back in junior high.

SURPRISES

surp butterfly kimono

bicycle dress

There seem to be some really great surprise items coming to us this month. I’m interested in the butterfly kimono, bicycle dress and the orange tropical print dress.

Today I was helping a friend identify vintage hats. While doing so I looked up photos of classic movie stars in tilt hats. I couldn’t keep these to myself so I’m sharing them with you. I really need to start watching more classic films. The fashion alone is riveting.

Note: I did not keep track of where I sourced these photos from as I didn’t plan this post. If you recognize a photo from your blog and need me to source you (or remove it), please let me know.

straw cowgirl hat-Kmart, wooden bead necklace-gift from a friend, Converse plaid babydoll dress-thrifted, Hush Puppies denim & silver sandals-gift from a friend

A couple of weeks ago we had an unusually warm day so when we went out to eat I was able to wear this super cute Converse babydoll dress that I haven’t worn nearly enough. I was feeling happy and silly cuz my man was wearing his new Santa hat so I topped it off with a cowgirl hat that I bought at Kmart in 2011. I added a necklace and shoes and voila, a fun day!

How cute is he, really? Super, ah.

Albertus Swanepoel for Target Ganache Hat, pink pearls-Kmart, faux leather brown bomber jacket-Dots, Carol Anderson brown and white polka dot dress-thrifted, green pantyhose-Target, Rocket Dog heels-thrifted

As you’re aware I have a bit of a 90s fetish. So as of late I’d found myself ogling the cute, comfy looking shirtdresses sported by Bridget Fonda, Mary Stuart Masterson and the like while watching 90s flicks. So yes, I was on the look out for a shirtdress to add to my wardrobe. What I happened to come across was actually one that I believe is from the 80s that was trying to evoke the 50s. I loved it. And yes, it totally came from the local magical thrift shop where I score stuff like this super cheap.

As I mentioned in my Miracle-Gro post I’ve been wanting to do an OOTD in front of our garden. However I’ve been feeling run down and not even trying to dress in anything but tees and cargos lately. However at the end of April during a day that felt like fall I tried to improve my down in the dumps spirit/downtrodden body by wearing this and whatever other fun things that struck my fancy.

I paired my dress with some green tights I got at Target over the winter, adorable brown and green Rocket Dog heels, a faux leather jacket I got at Dots a while back, my pink pearls (cuz why not) and topped it with a cloche hat that I snagged at Target on sale. Yes, it was from that Albertus Swanepoel for Target collection that I was coveting last fall. I managed to score this one and the blue hat in my snow alien photo set (also from his collection) super cheap since people in this town don’t love hats like I do (clearance baby!).

I sort of felt like I was walking around from a different time period in this outfit but it definitely cheered me up, thus doing its job.

I haven’t done a photo set in forever. So I’ve been itching to do one, but not a scantily clad one. Then last week we had this beautiful snow storm. So I knew that I had to put something together and take photos before it turned into sludge.

The only thing I was sure of was wearing some blue tights that I scored for $1 at It’s A Buck (yes!). At first I decided on a lovely blue and green dress but when I put it on I felt that it was nice but that it wouldn’t pop enough against the snow. Then I threw dresses all over my bedroom until I came upon my yellow dress. It was perfect. While doing my makeup I decided upon blue eyeshadow and then thought, “make it crazier…SNOW ALIEN!…and I did. You see she can’t feel how cold it is.

I took the advice that I usually ignore and didn’t include a bunch of similar shots. However I did include one because I really liked it and it was nice to edit a photo that didn’t have my face in it.
