“Snakes. Why did it have to be snakes?”Indiana Jones

There may be things that I have in common with both Indiana Jones and my mother (for instance, our love of hats), but an innate fear of snakes isn’t one of them.

totally safe if you were a pre-teen in the 90s

A few months ago my now fiance and I went to spend the day at the mall. We arrived early and as we were waiting outside a small trailer showed up that said something to the effect of wild reptile show. I commented on how cool/odd this was to him but I just assumed this person was stopping by the mall to buy something.

I was wrong, once the doors were unlocked we were treated to a display of snakes, a baby crocodile, gecko, etc. directly in front of Burlington Coat Factory. How wild! I totally took a ton of time snapping pics of these awesome animals. It’s not every day that I see a baby crocodile…or a gecko that’s not trying to sell me insurance.

Of course they were in cases and there wasn’t any type of danger present but I find it interesting that they fascinate me so. Plus as an incredible worry wart these types of animals don’t really frighten me (uh, much). For instance I used to see a guy who owned a couple of deadly snakes that sometimes got loose in his home (that did scare my mother when I told her). Plus as a kid I requested the $5 from my dad to wear a snake around my neck and receive a polaroid of it at a very small circus (as seen above).

So without further ado, please enjoy this short video and photos of some neat reptiles. They are not labeled as I don’t know their specific names. If you are a reptile expert or hobbyist please feel free to leave a comment letting me know what they are actually called. (The cases were labeled but I didn’t snap photos of those, whoops!)

P.S. Photo quality differs on some of the photos because I starting snapping pics with my phone prior to realizing that I had brought my digital camera with me that day (which I then switched to).

You may recall that recently I bought some kick ass wet look capris from EdenFantasys. So despite the fact that I was ill with a cold not long ago I was easily talked into going to see a revival of the film Grease. As I mentioned in my post Fashion Review: Tell Me About It, Stud Wet Look Capris these capris remind so much of Sandy in Grease. Of course that means that I had to wear them to go see the movie.

Now if you are already wearing the pants why not go all the way and basically costume it up? I paired those capris with my OOAK off the shoulder Army of Darkness top that I bought on eBay years back (turned inside out, of course), a pair of espadrilles from Target, my Miley & Max jacket that I’ve been rocking for years and some cute faux gold and diamond hoop earrings.

It was so much fun to see the movie up on the big screen again. I caught the ’98 re-release when I was in junior high and that was also a blast.

This past summer I had the pleasure to attend the Philadelphia Wizard World Comic Con as press. It was such a fantastic experience that was full of surprises. One of them being that on the Sunday of the convention as I turned a corner I spotted Dot Com from 30 Rock! He hadn’t been listed as attending and told me that he was a last minute addition. He was selling items stating Dot Com for President, which was pretty neat. It was so awesome that he granted me some of his time for the interview with him below.

Kristy Swanson, Clare Kramer

The woman who was in charge of handling the press told us where we could sit. She also said, feel free to crouch on the floor for close photos if you want. So near the end of the panel I literally crawled around in the below pink dress and took these pics because I had to, and it was encouraged! Man, how beautiful is Kristy Swanson, BTW?

(Other photos included in this post were taken from our normal seated position and aren’t as clear but I’m including them anyway so you can get a fuller experience.)

The panel started off with Clare letting everyone know that she’s filling in for Juliet Landau (who was originally scheduled to attend) and joked that she’d try to field any Drusilla questions. James promoted his band, Ghost of the Robot.

on the best acting advice they received
The second video is just a shorter, clearer version of the first about acting advice. My sister shot it because of her James Marsters obsession so I’m including it for all of us fangirls out there.

most memorable moments

James Marsters delves into how Joss Whedon really used a mixture of genres on Buffy, sometimes within the same episode or scene. He also discusses stage Vs screen acting.

on their characters’ deaths

Amber Benson comments on what it was like to have her death scene be used as her opening title credit for the rest of the show.

Amber Benson on Tara and Willow’s lesbian relationship
She talks about how it’s not about sexuality or even physicality but about love.

Benson discusses Tara’s death
James Marsters talks about what it was like when fans found Spike sexy since that wasn’t Joss’ original intention.

answering if they ever took anything from the set
I love that Clare Kramer stole Glory’s panties!

James Marsters on working on Buffy Vs. Angel
It’s awesome when he talks about working with Boreanaz on Angel.

Well the Buffy panel at the 2012 Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con was awesome, as would be expected. As I mentioned in my Thor panel post, BTVS fans are the best. They are perceptive, witty and inquisitive.

I’ve been to a small, intimate Angel/Buffy convention years back. Plus my sister and I had also met a couple of the actors at another convention years ago but this was a first for her to see an actual Buffy panel. You don’t even know how excited she was.

I did most of the filming on this one and for some reason the fact that her camera is 2MP higher than mine makes a huge difference. That’s why some videos are clearer and closer than others. I’m also usually steadier but it was too much fun to stay completely still during this thing.

I would definitely say that a fun time was had by all. If Wizard World does another Buffy panel in the future I highly encourage you to attend it. What a blast!

Yes, Hot Donna and I did it up in Atlantic City. So here’s a short video I shot while we were there and she was getting us breakfast.

I have also included this video featuring the Stefon character that I’m imitating above, from Saturday Night Live, in case you are not a huge fan like me and don’t know who I’m referring to.

Note: We did pay for our stay at Bally’s.
We were comped the tickets to Providence. Just fill out the form on their site to get on the VIP guest list.
