Jennifer Love Hewitt recently posted these beautiful photos on her twitter feed. I don’t know what they are for. She’s shooting a television series reimagining of the TV movie The Client List The (trailer is below, premieres in March) so they could have something to do with that. They kind of look like shots you’d seen in a perfume campaign. Ooh, I bet she has great taste in scents. Umm, fingers crossed.

Anyone can have a mugshot taken but it takes mad skills to take a hot one. Especially since someone probably just pulled your hammered ass off of the ground.

Photobucket

Earlier this year Nic Cage was arrested for being drunk and disorderly in New Orleans (drunk in New Orleans?, no way!). Apparently if you ask cops to arrest you they will oblige. I thought what a good mugshot. It’s sexy and he even thought to close his eyes. That way you can try to deny your state of mind later. Unless, they have a video, oops.

Photobucket

This reminded me of the super hot mugshot of Burn Notice star Jeffrey Donovan last year. That one was for a DUI in Miami (where they shoot the show). This photo is not just dead sexy for a mugshot. It’s just hot in general. Plus he may have had a cold. What do most of us look like when we are drunkenly nursing a cold?

I started thinking that there must be a lot of these out there but when you read about celeb mugshots it’s usually just that same old photo of Nick Nolte looking goofy. Let’s focus on the positive here people.

Kiefer Sutherland – drunk driving. This was an odd decision.
50 Cent – felony drug charges. He had his girl hide his fcoke in her panties. Wait, you mean that’s not a good plan?
Aidan Quinn – drunk driving
Al Pacino – concealed weapon (sounds like he may have been in a gang)
David Bowie – possesion of pot (they must have got him on a low key day for it not to have been cocaine)
Chace Crawford – possession of weed
Chris Tucker – speeding and then trying to elude the cops when they caught him
Kurt Cobain – trespassing/possession
Macauley Culkin – possesion of pot, Xanax, prescription sleeping pills
Matt Dillon – speeding
Donnie Wahlberg – arson. He lit a fire in a hotel room. So that’s how the New Kids on the Block partied.
Carmen Electra – fighting with Dennis Rodman
Foxy Brown – stealing makeup & then putting it on in the store’s bathroom
Edward Furlong – liberating lobsters while drunk
Billie Joe Armstrong – drunk driving
Mick Jagger – possession of narcotics
Shia LaBeouf – loitering at Walgreens (while drunk)
Lil Kim – possession of grass
Lindsay Lohan – It was difficult to choose just one. From when she served an hour and a half sentence
Michelle Rodriguez – breaking probation (by not doing community service and drinking)
Matthew McConaughey – possession of pot. Police were called due to a noise complaint. They found him loudly playing bongos, naked, while high.
Jim Morrison – public drunkeness at a football game. He was insulting football players, fuck yeah. Public obscenity, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest, as recreated in the movie The Doors.
Ozzy Osbourne – public intoxication. Surely they jest.
Keanu Reeves – drunk driving
Christian Slater – trying to take a gun on a plane in his suitcase
Vince Vaughn – bar fight
Woody Harrelson – dancing in the street drunk

“Teenagers are weird and you’re the weirdest”

This post is for the Film Experience‘s Hit Me With Your Best Shot series. Peggy Sue Got Married is the 1986 Francis Ford Coppola fantasy film about a woman who faints at her 25th high school reunion and wakes up as a teen during the week that she made the decisions that set up the rest of her life. It stars Kathleen Turner as Peggy Sue. I’m a big fan of Turner’s and recommend reading her autobiography.

As a child I was very open to everything (time travel/ghosts/witches/telepathy/religion/you name it). It’s not that I thought that it was all true but that there was the possibility that anything could be true. I am now completely cynical but I still like watching some of my childhood favorites, like Peggy Sue, which take me back to a simpler time. I later read that there was drama related to Nic Cage’s Gumby voice and other problems when they made the movie but that doesn’t matter to me.

It was difficult for me to choose a shot because the thing that I really dig about the movie is the dialogue. It seems like sometimes when there would be a reaction shot or a close up of the actor saying the awesome line that the camera is always pulled far away or focusing on someone else.

I chose this shot because even though Peggy originally feels like she is just trying to avoid marrying Nic Cage’s Charlie Bodell and playing the field with other guys she is also behaving like one of those women who takes on the interests of whatever guy she is with and loses some of herself. This is when she’s trying to seem cool to wannabe beatnik poet Michael Fitzsimmons.

"I'm a hip chick"

The funny thing is that often when you are watching a movie you are trying to figure it out for the characters but I have no idea what she should have done. She has this crazy obsessive possessive love with Cage who is at times either scary or ridiculous but then also adorable.

Of course there are a million other moments that I love in the movie, so here are some more screencaps.

They won't be but that's why we love you. Man this dress is so fab.

Something about dentists getting cocaine to treat patients strikes me as untrue but you have to have a photo of Jim Carrey with nose candy.

UPDATE: According to this article Lohman gave birth to her son in the timeframe of November 2010 to February 2011. She and her hubby were spotted out with him in August 2011. That is when they finally mentioned the baby to the press.

I was recently rewatching Matchstick Men and was, of course, struck by how good actress Alison Lohman is in it. Then I thought that some people might not be familiar with her work. I first noticed Lohman in the drama White Oleander which is about a teen girl with a volatile mother who finds herself while living in a series of foster homes. It’s based on the book of the same name by Janet Fitch.

In 2009 Lohman starred in the Sam Raimi horror film Drag Me To Hell, which was really scary and disturbing even though it did include classic Raimi slapstick. It’s about a woman who is plagued by a gypsy curse.

However my favorite role of hers is as the headstrong reporter Karen in the murder mystery Where The Truth Lies. Most of the attention that this film received was due to the racy sex scenes but there’s so much more to it than that. I highly recommend this film. I also recommend the novel of the same name by Rupert Grint that the film is based on. It’s very good.

I realized that I hadn’t seen her in anything in a while. A quick search produced rumors of her being pregnant late last year, which explains her recent hiatus from films. This YouTube video verifies the information. In it she is shooting a foreign magazine spread whilst pregnant. During this break you can catch up on all of her old roles.

FUN FACTS:
(from IMDB.com)
She went to the audition for Matchstick Men in 2003 dressed as and acting like a 14 year old girl. Ridley Scott only realized her real age (then 22) when she told him.

“I can cry on cue to get out of a traffic ticket. That’s happened at least three times.” – Alison Lohman
