I bet Gary Marshall saw this and said “no, that’s next year’s project!”

I actually don’t think this is as funny as other Drunk History episodes that I’ve seen but it’s cute.

It’s awesome how they brought this sketch back this year.

Make Your Ryan Gosling Drive Halloween Costume

I recently watched the film Drive starring Ryan Gosling as Driver. Despite my sister and I making Pink Ladies jokes about his jacket during the first half hour it’s actually a very distinctive look. So much so that there has already been a reproduction made of it. You can buy the Official Licensed Drive Scorpion Jacket here for $159.99 per jacket. It is now officially sold now. Plus they weren’t shipping them until after Halloween. If you go as Driver this Halloween you will be ahead of the curve.

So you can’t get an exact jacket but you can still put together a similar look. The jacket in the film was inspired by a vintage Korean souvenir jacket from the 1950’s that Gosling owns. The scorpion on the back is a reference to Scorpio Rising. Erin Benach created 13 jackets for the film.

You can buy something similar such as a Satin Charmeuse Night Jacket or a Satin Baseball Jacket (both shown below). Baseball jackets are commonly bought for high school sports teams so you may even be able to get them to embroider a similar scorpion on your jacket. If not you can get a copy of the design from this forum and attempt to use an iron on t-shirt transfer to put it on the back of your chosen jacket.

If you don’t want to go to the trouble of doing that you could buy the Drive Scorpion Shirt and wear that underneath a white baseball or bomber jacket.

The rest of his outfit is fairly simple.

His outfit consists of a short sleeve white Henley shirt, pair of blue jeans by Acne, distressed Levi’s blue jean jacket, pair of taupe Stacy Adams leather boots distressed with faux blood, and pair of brown leather driving gloves. In the past the actual screen worn outfit was sold for $2,850 at The Golden Closet. Ryan Gosling wears pair of plastic rimmed aviators by Selima Optique, the Money 2 Aviator. Ryan Gosling’s Henley tee was a Williams Vintage Henley from Mister Freedom.

While it’s nice to know the exact brands used in the film it would be very simple to hit a few department stores to score some cheap aviator sunglasses, a henley tee and some dark wash jeans.

So why not give it a try and get the love of the ladies this Halloween?
