aka I swear this will not become a wedding blog
super sappy photo booth photo because I can
Many fashion bloggers have written about Pinterest. Up until now I have not. FYI-they were worried about copyright issues. I’m not a huge fan of Pinterest because you can’t block people. It’s gotten angry on there. Reporting people has no effect, etc. So this is the first board I’ve made in months.
I did this because I’ve been thinking about my upcoming wedding. Yes, I’m engaged. Yes, we are planning to get married next summer. No, nothing is done yet and I don’t see us actually working on any of it until at least January but it’s not like I haven’t thought about it.
I never grew up dreaming of a wedding. So this is out of character for me. I’m marrying him because I love him not to have a wedding. This ain’t a romantic comedy yo. So at first we were both like whatever and told someone else to basically just plan it. I now realize that this was stupid, especially since we actually do have preferences.
At any rate these are only ideas. Yes, I even estimated prices. Like I said this is totally preliminary but possibly doable. It’s not expensive. However if I don’t have the money when we do get married I’ll be fine with a dress and the court house. This was fun though.
After searching online for quite a while I found a local Italian restaurant that holds wedding receptions (and I think I could do the short wedding there before as well, I’m not sure). I haven’t eaten there yet (see, I told you this was super preliminary). I’m looking into it because fiance loves Italian food, the restaurant only charges for the food (not the space) and there is ample parking (even though I want to keep it small, for sure). I was thinking of doing a dry wedding because I’m cheap but then I realized that was silly since I enjoy drinking. So, since I believe this place has you hire a bartender, but you bring your own booze, I’m choosing my favorite wine and Coors Light.
We had been talking about having karaoke at our wedding. We both love to sing. Sometimes we play SingStar on my PS2 together. I feel sappy now. Any who, I totally found a bitchin “ONE MAN BAND”. Oh yes, he plays the saxophone, djs and does karaoke. So yeah. I could have my jazz, karaoke and we can also totally cheesily dance to the Macarena. Woot!
I love the dress that Kate Hudson wore in Bride Wars. Yes, it was super expensive and by Vera Wang. However it was mainly just a strapless ballgown with a sash. So I was thinking of getting something similar. That’s if it looks good on me, see I haven’t even tried any dresses on yet! DavidsBridal.com has some gorgeous Vera Wang gowns on sale. This one is only $250 (75% off!). It’s sort of classy and old fashioned for me but I love it.
Since I have far from the perfect body I’m thinking I’ll get a boned corset from EdenFantasys, like this White fully boned lace and satin corset. Then I would add some accessories such as a tiara (“I’m a princess!”-Liz Lemon) and white heels from ShoeDazzle.
Right now I’m thinking a sort of brown and white with two hearts and cowboy accessories theme. Yes, that’s a terrible sentence and a total mish mash but somehow I think it could work. I showed my fiance the Oriental Trading Company wedding catalog and then this board recently. It totally didn’t scare him because he’s the romantic type. Plus he said that he’d thought of a western theme in the past as well. He even picked out a couple of other items from the catalog that he digs. The Oriental Trading Company has some cheap but fun decorations. Yes, I would do the decorating with my family.
