As of the time of this post, it’s been almost three months since I started the Disney College Program. I recorded this apartment tour video within the first two weeks of moving in. So yeah, it was a while ago. Wi-fi is terrible in the complexes so my blogging has been nonexistent.

Nonetheless, enjoy and I hope it will help if you are about to do the program and trying to pick your top apartment choice.

For this post (and others in my holiday sales series) I have went through thousands of items and chosen the items that in my humble opinion are the best so that you don’t have to wade through them.

This post was written prior to the week of Black Friday sales. However online stores often have their movies on sale for about the same price from now through the first week of January. I don’t recommend waiting too long to buy though as many will sell out.

Comedies

Comedies by missemmamm on polyvore.com

Middle Men (Blu-ray), $8.99
Bridesmaids (Unrated/Rated) (2 Discs) Blu-ray, $9.99
Your Highness (Widescreen) DVD, $8.99
Paul (Widescreen) DVD, $8.99
Dinner for Schmucks (Blu-ray), $6.99
Due Date (Widescreen), $5.99
Badder Santa (Blu-ray), $4.75
Superhero Movie (Rated) (Widescreen), $5

It’s awesome to see a lot of newer movies at good prices this season. All of these are super funny.
After you’ve watched them check out movie quotes from Paul and Due Date.

Comedies 2

Comedies 2 by missemmamm on polyvore.com

You Don’t Mess with the Zohan (Unrated), $4.99
Detroit Rock City (Widescreen), $5
Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (Unrated) (Widescreen), $5
The Lost Collection: Hiding Out (Widescreen), $5
Be Kind Rewind (2007) DVD, $3.67
Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead DVD, $3.43
Zack And Miri (Widescreen), $2

An awesome Kevin Smith/Seth Rogen movie for $2? Yeah, get that. Then check out the quotes from it here.
Be Kind Rewind is extremely charming.
If you’ve never seen Jon Cryer in Hiding Out then this is the time to remedy that.

I loved Ernest as a kid.

How I Chose These Flicks

Would I recommend it?

Is the DVD from under $5?/Blu-ray under $10?
In general I’m looking for/expecting DVDs in the range of $1.99 to $5 and Blu-rays in the range of $5-$10. Of course I will make allowances for movies that I love that are a little more, newer movies or those that are rarely on sale.

Is it usually available on Netflix Instant Streaming?
This is assuming that you use this service. If it’s something that you just like & it’s usually available on Netflix Streaming then you probably want to use your money for something that isn’t easily available. Not everything is always going to still be available so I will make an exception for something that I love, especially if it has good special features.

Is it frequently this price (or cheaper) year round?
There are lots of sales during the year. It’s not unusual to see many of the same titles that they are promoting now for the same price, or in some cases cheaper, year round.

Will it be noticeably cheaper on the actual day of Black Friday?
It’s a good idea to check out the Black Friday sites with leaked ads so you don’t pay more than is necessary for something right before or after these sales.

I focused on sites that I could use polyvore on as I’m not interesting in hyperlinking to 100s of movies. I do realize these movies are mainly being sold on huge retail sites. However they are the ones who are usually able to offer steep deals and (sometimes) free shipping.

So guys,
What will you be buying this season?
Do you have any other suggestions for similar movies that are currently on sale?

Romances

Romances by missemmamm on polyvore.com

It’s Complicated (Blu-ray), $8.99
Movie Marathon Collection: Girls Rule (3 Discs)-5 movies inc Blue…, $5.99
Walmart.com: Search Results for “sandra bullock”, $5
(500) Days of Summer DVD, $7.99
Legally Blonde / Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde (Widescreen), $6
Must Love Dogs (Widescreen), $5
Roman Holiday [Special Collector’s Edition] (Full Frame), $5
Forces Of Nature (Widescreen), $4
The Cutting Edge 3: Chasing The Dream, $3

Must Love Dogs isn’t a movie that I hear many people talk about but I love it so much. Diane Lane and John Cusack are so good in it.
These movie packs are an awesome buy. Plus you may not have seen all of the titles included. About Adam is the one I’d watch first, if I were you.

The Wedding Date is one of my favorite romcoms. If you like Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney (and his ass) then it’s a must buy.
Blast From the Past is an adorable movie. Plus it came out during the late 90s and has that whole swing dancing, pastel outlook on life thing going on.
A Christian Slater 2 pack? Need I say more?

The Roommate (Blu-ray), $9.99
The Roommate DVD, $8.99
Land of the Dead (Blu-ray), $4.99
The Ninth Gate (Blu-ray) (Widescreen), $4.75
Drag Me to Hell (2 Discs) (Includes Digital Copy) Blu-ray, $8.99
My Bloody Valentine 3D (With 3D Glasses) (Blu-ray) (Widescreen), $6
Stir Of Echoes (Blu-ray) (Widescreen), $6
The Faculty, $5
The Final Destination (Widescreen), $5
The Haunting: Signature Selection (Widescreen), $5
Snakes On A Plane / Critters (2-Pack) (Exclusive) (Widescreen), $4.50
Ninth Gate (Widescreen), $3

If you weren’t a teen in the late 90s then you may not have seen The Faculty, which is a shame, get on that.
I really dug Sam Raimi’s Drag Me To Hell starring Alison Lohman.
It seems like The Ninth Gate is very underwatched, but it’s so good.
The Roommate is such a fun movie that you can totally yell at the screen during.
