In collaboration with Sammy Sunshine, I bring you our first He Said, She Said movie review. Watch us volley this new and controversial superhero flick back and forth.

out of 5 stars

BEWARE~~~ALL THE SPOILERS

(we actually caught this opening night, but I just got this up)

batman staring contest

Watch the entire video for our full thoughts. I transcribed a few good bits below.

(on the nightmares)
“too many nightmare scenes”~Sammy Sunshine

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman
(on Wonder Woman)
“Wonder Woman kicked some ass in that movie.”~Sammy Sunshine

“He made a really good point…if they hadn’t told you Wonder Woman was gonna be in the movie, it would have been a lot more interesting when you find out who Wonder Woman was.”~missemmamm

superman takes the stand
(on the politics in the film)
“You know how I feel about the superheroes, they’re superheroes.”~Sammy Sunshine

Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor
(on Jesse Eisenberg)
“I will say, Jesse Eisenberg, I did not like him as Lex Luthor.”~Sammy Sunshine
“I really liked him.”~missemmamm
“He was acting too Jokery.”~Sammy Sunshine

Jeremy Irons as Alfred
(on Alfred)
“Jeremy Irons is a fucking lead actor…I don’t want to see Jeremy Irons as the butler. Jeremy Irons is supposed to be like fucking people and then like, throwing them down the stairs.”~missemmamm

brooding batman
(on the tone)
“It was a really depressing movie, most of the time.”~missemmamm
“You know, it was supposed to be emotionally deep, I suppose, but emotions do go beyond the range of sad and depressing and Lex Luthor crazy.”~Sammy Sunshine

P.S. There’s nothing after the end credits. You don’t have to wait.

disney lifeguard

my "sinspiration", j/k

my “sinspiration”, j/k

This fall I will be working in Orlando, Florida for Disney as a part of the Disney College Program. My role is lifeguard. See above for a photo of an actual Disney lifeguard and the poster for Kristen Bell’s The Lifeguard. Obviously that has no relation to this except it comes to mind when I think of lifeguarding. Plus she does have to wear a red swimsuit and she’s over 30.

In my above video I go into detail on everything I’ve learned about what it will be like when I actually do the program. Obviously I won’t really know what it’s like until I start but I like to be as prepared as possible.

Below are the videos and links I’ve found online to be most useful when it comes to researching this role. I’d recommend watching both the unofficial and official videos to really get a feel for it.

I forgot to mention in my video that yes, it’s a known thing for the lifeguards to dance (so fun!).

recommended DCP lifeguard links:

So we’ve established that yes, the 2012 Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con was awesome. One of my favorite parts of any convention that I’ve ever attended are checking out all of the great costumes or cosplayers, if you will. Since we were press (I know, it’s weird to think about) and we had a lot to do I didn’t get as many shots as I otherwise would have. However the pics I did get I am definitely jazzed about.

when I saw the hottest Loki in attendance I had to ask for a pic

Hot Donna with Harley Quinn

Mario and Luigi? We both had to get in on that.

When I saw these 4 lovely ladies I jumped in on a photo someone else was taking but they said it was okay.

& the next day I accosted Poison Ivy again because her costume rocks!

in the original costume (before Captain America becomes famous), hells to the yeah!

This dude was doing Nicholson's '89 Joker & he was in character!

When I find a group of young men with light sabers I can't help myself.

for someone who doesn't watch Doctor Who my sister was unnaturally attracted to the TARDIS (I don't watch it either, I just spend way too much time online)

The DeLorean from Back to the Future was there & for a small fee of $20 you could get a pic either inside or standing on the hoverboard to benefit The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, very cool

Press passes to the convention were provided to both Hot Donna & myself gratis from the awesome PR team at Wizard World.
The next Wizard World Comic Con takes place in Chicago this August. For more info on their upcoming cons please visit the Wizard World site.

Today, I wanted to do something light and fun. I already did an Easter post last year so I went looking through my drafts for something else. Eureka! I was playing with the sites PhotoFunia and FACEinHole last year and saved a few pics as a post but never got around to posting it. Like it says in the title of one of these sites, they are a lot of fun. I’m drawn to the movie stuff but they have a ton of different situations that you can put you or your friends/family into (ex. magazine covers, holidays, art, etc.). PhotoFunia will host your creations after you make them. FACEinHOLE makes you post through them onto other social networks/blogs. I was unable to do that since I use wordpress.org, so I just screencapped my pics from there. You could also do that if you don’t like random sites having your login info. Have fun!
